Sankofa is a safer space for children of African and Afrodiasporic descent where they can develop freely and cultivate a healthy sense of self. At Sankofa, our children practice empathetic and respectful interaction towards one another and our surroundings. This warm and loving environment requires great teachers as well as diverse educational materials that reflect the reality for children of African descent. At Sankofa, we constantly explore new ways of fostering self-confidence and pride – empathy and respect – creativity and imagination – critical thinking and problem solving.
